Why Epic?

Welcome to our very first blog post. In ancient times an epic would begin with a prayer to the Muses, the goddesses of creativity and knowledge. Now, we begin with a blog post... At Wear Epic we are driven by a desire to bring design ideas inspired by the ancient world to your wardrobe. You might ask why though?

Honestly, some of this is down simply to our personal fascination with history, particularly the classical history of Ancient Greece or Rome. Beyond this though, we recognise that these cultures produced ideas, art and design concepts that still thrill, delight, drip with drama, and speak to us down the ages. We wanted to harness some of these and bring them into modern clothing.

An epic was originally a poem or story of grand proportions, charting the struggles of men, women and gods to achieve glory and fulfil destinies. The ancients believed that great heroes lived lives that burned bright with intolerable intensity. We want our clothing to be imbued with some of that drama and some of that bright energy so we can empower people to live their own epics.

So whether you are shopping for something cosy to chill in, some trendy street wear that speaks with ancient pathos or gear for an outdoor adventure, you can shop with us and be assured we’ve got what it takes to equip you for your epic journey!
